How to Prepare for Morpheus8

Good Morpheus8 preparation is mostly about arriving with calm, intact skin and giving your provider an accurate health and treatment history. At Elume Med Spa in Fairfax, VA, you will receive instructions based on your skin, medications, recent procedures, and treatment area.

What should you pause two weeks before Morpheus8?

Your provider may ask you to pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, abrasive scrubs, certain acne treatments, waxing, depilatory creams, or other products and services that can leave skin irritated. The exact timing varies, so do not use a general online checklist to stop a prescription medication or change a clinician-directed routine.

Avoid tanning and protect the planned treatment area from sunburn. Tell Elume if the skin becomes burned, broken, infected, unusually inflamed, or develops a cold sore. Your appointment may need to be adjusted rather than treating compromised skin.

Also disclose recent injectables, lasers, peels, microneedling, surgery, dental work, or other procedures near the area. Safe spacing depends on what you had done and when.

Alcohol, supplements, and over-the-counter medicines can also be relevant to bruising, healing, or treatment planning. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own. Instead, provide a complete list and ask which instructions apply to you. If another clinician manages a medicine or health condition, Elume may ask you to confirm the plan with that clinician.

What should you do during the week before treatment?

Keep your routine steady and gentle. Do not start a strong new skincare product, perform an at-home peel, or experiment with a device immediately before treatment. If you develop a rash, breakout, illness, cold sore, or medication change, call the office before your appointment.

Confirm transportation, work, exercise, and event plans with your expected recovery window in mind. Read our Morpheus8 recovery guide before choosing an appointment date. Purchase only the aftercare products Elume recommends, and avoid building your own aggressive post-treatment routine from social media advice.

Use this week to ask practical questions. Confirm the treatment area, arrival time, expected numbing period, and whether you should bring anything. If you have an important event, flight, outdoor activity, or another aesthetic procedure coming up, share the date rather than assuming the spacing will work.

What should you do on the day of your appointment?

Arrive with clean skin and without makeup, sunscreen, lotion, or fragranced products on the treatment area unless the office directs you differently. Wear comfortable clothing that gives your provider easy access to the planned area, especially if your neck is included.

Morpheus8 appointments at Elume are scheduled for 120 minutes, including time for topical numbing. The device portion is only one part of the visit. Time is also needed to review your plan, prepare and cleanse the area, allow numbing cream to take effect, perform the treatment carefully, and discuss aftercare.

Bring an updated medication and supplement list. Tell your provider about allergies, implanted devices, pregnancy status, recent illness, previous reactions, and any change in your health history. Do not withhold information because you think it will automatically cancel treatment.

Eat and hydrate normally unless Elume gives you a different instruction based on your health history. Avoid arriving rushed or with plans that require leaving before aftercare has been reviewed. Build the full two-hour appointment into your schedule and allow time to travel home without immediately returning to strenuous activity.

What happens at the consultation first?

The consultation is where Elume decides whether Morpheus8 fits your concern, timing, and health history. Our Morpheus8 candidate guide explains what is reviewed. Shaheen Ghafari, licensed Nurse Practitioner and owner of Elume Med Spa, evaluates the treatment area, discusses your goals, and explains realistic options.

Consultations are free. You can schedule a 30-minute in-person visit or a 15-minute phone consultation. An in-person evaluation is especially useful when your question depends on skin laxity, scarring, anatomy, or whether the face, neck, or both should be treated.

What should you expect to pay?

Morpheus8 is currently $549 per session for the full face and $695 per session for the face and neck. Both appointments are scheduled for 120 minutes and include numbing time. Pricing for other areas or a multi-session plan is confirmed during consultation rather than estimated online.

The Morpheus8 cost guide explains how treatment area, provider, location, and the number of planned sessions affect total cost. Do not choose a plan based only on the lowest single-session price. Compare what is included and who performs the treatment.
