Shaheen Ghafari is a licensed Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Elume Medspa. She opened the practice in Fairfax, Virginia in 2009 and has owned and run it ever since. Seventeen years later she still sees patients herself, and many of the people who walk through the door have been coming to her for a decade or more.
Elume is deliberately a small practice. There is no rotating roster of injectors and no upselling script. The person who sits down with you at the consultation is the person who treats you, and she would rather talk you out of something than sell you a result you were never going to get.
Her Approach
“I want every patient to leave looking like themselves, rested, refreshed, and confident. That starts with listening: I’d rather tell you what you don’t need than recommend something that isn’t right for you.”
That shows up in how a visit actually runs. Shaheen takes the time to look at your skin in person before she talks about treatments, explains what a given option will and will not do, and is straightforward when the honest answer is that you do not need anything yet. A consultation is a conversation, not a sales appointment. You will sit down with Shaheen, talk about what is bothering you and what you have already tried, and she will look at your skin in person before recommending anything. If a treatment is not right for you, or the timing is wrong, she will say so.
